MR. MASTERPIECE

Aren't you watching Mr. Robot? You should. USA Network's new Tv Show in just 8 episodes (there's two left to the finale) has proved to be a complete masterpiece, capable of reinventing itself from scene to scene and mesmerize even the most septic eye.

The spunk, the creativity and the rigor of the every single camera shot display the effort that it is done so that Mr. Robot is 'a breath of fresh air' on television. Rami Malek leads the cast with the character Elliot, an introverted hacker full of dimensions and depth, who treats us -  the spectators - as if we were his imaginary friend. During 45 minutes weekly, the show exhibits some of the most corrosive criticisms of the current society. But as in the real world, the rebels have to submit to the orders of superiors, before eventually hatch a revolution. It's notable a capability of taking risks: from scratching a few taboos to create big, bold twists. Weekly, the viewer will unveiling the personality of the characters and the experience is made of extremely credible and delicate way - because not all the dimensions of the character are dumped in only a few episodes, we get to know them as the series progresses, a kind of immersion which is pretty much like the reality of socialization.

With the praises of critics and the public, Mr. Robot might be a turning point for the USA Network who has been kept away from the awards circuits. It's expected that it will be a presence on the Emmys 2016.

I don't believe that the show will loose its quality in the next two episodes. However, the truth is that the second season is always tricky, because it will testify the quality of the show. So, I'm crossing my fingers for Mr Robot keeps its rigor (that is showing us weekly) or be able to surprise us even more.

Não estás a ver Mr. Robot? Devias. A nova série da USA Network em apenas 8 episódios (faltam dois para terminar a temporada) provou ser uma completa obra de arte, capaz de se reinventar de cena para cena e assombrar qualquer olho mais cético. 

O brio, a criatividade e o rigor dos planos captados pela equipa técnica evidenciam o esforço que é feito para que Mr. Robot seja ‘uma lufada de ar fresco’ na televisão. Rami Malek lidera o elenco com a personagem Elliot, um introvertido hacker repleto de dimensões e profundidade, que trata o espetador como se fosse o seu amigo imaginário. A série, durante cerca de 45 minutos semanais, tece as mais corrosivas críticas à sociedade atual, Mas assim como no mundo real, os revoltosos têm de submeter às ordens dos superiores, antes de (eventualmente) eclodirem uma revolução. Denota-se uma grande capacidade em arriscar: desde o massajar tabus à criação de grandes e arrojadas reviravoltas. Semanalmente, o espectador vai descortinando a personalidade das personagens e esta experiência é feita de forma extremamente credível e delicada - no sentido em que nem todas as dimensões da personagem nos são despejadas em meia-dúzia de episódios, vamos conhecendo-as à medida que o a série avança, uma espécie de imersão que chega a roçar à realidade da socialização.

Com a crítica e os espectadores a seus pés, Mr. Robot pode ser o ponto de mudança para o canal USA Network que se tem mantido longe dos circuitos das nomeações de televisão. Prevê-se presença obrigatória nos Emmys 2016.

Não acredito que a série perca a qualidade nos próximos dois episódios. Contudo, a verdade é que a segunda temporada é decisiva para todas as séries, pois é nesta que se confirma a qualidade – uma espécie de tira-teimas – e por isso, faço figas para que continue com o rigor que nos tem brindado semanalmente ou que nos consiga surpreender ainda mais.
