THE PROJECT: MADRID

When the opportunity to travel to Madrid arrived, I was extremely excited. Although I had a completely neutral opinion about the city. After a mere forty-five minutes trip, I've arrived to the city and was welcomed by a frightening cold, as I had never felt in my entire life. In the following days, I realised that the Madrileños themselves were surprised by the extremely low temperature, because when i traveled to Spain's capital it was almost Spring and it was time from the winter 'pack his bags and move on'. One of the first stops was a typical Madrid spot: the Starbucks (or éstarbúcks, as they say - which i found it very funny).The truth is that i say this with all the irony in world but also as a form of disapproving my own action, but I really did miss the cafes chain since my last visit to London - which happened 5 years ago.During the remaining days - after my short visit to Starbucks - I visited almost all the sights that I had self-proposed [and I share with you the photographic record of some of those moments].

Quickly I fell in love with the city and its temperature. Madrid breathes culture in every corner: the theaters are 'alive', get into a museum implies wait in line so that you can enjoy the art, the architecture is breathtaking - if i had taken a photo by mistake it would be a good photo. The cuisine is extraordinary [Paella ❤].

Quando surgiu a oportunidade de rumar a Madrid fiquei extremamente entusiasmado, embora tivesse uma opinião totalmente neutra face à cidade. Após uns meros quarenta e cinco minutos de viagem, cheguei à cidade. Fui acolhido por um atemorizante frio, como nunca havia sentido em toda a minha vida. Percebi nos dias seguintes que os próprios madrilenos estavam surpreendidos com a temperatura que estava extremamente baixa, visto que na altura em que estive na capital espanhola, o Inverno deveria estar 'a arrumar as malas' para dar lugar à (esperada) solarenga primavera.

Uma das primeiras paragens foi um típico local madrileno: o Starbucks (ou éstarbúcks, como pronunciaram os 'nuestros hermanos'). A verdade é que o digo com toda a ironia do mundo e como forma de reprovação da minha própria atitude, mas eu sentia saudades da cadeia de cafés desde a minha última visita a Londres - que havia acontecido há 5 anos atrás.

Durante os restantes dias - após a minha curta visita ao Starbucks - visitei quase todos os pontos turísticos que me havia auto-proposto [e partilho o registo fotográfico convosco de alguns desses momentos].

Rapidamente me apaixonei pela cidade e pela sua temperatura. Respira-se cultura em cada esquina: os teatros estão 'vivos', entrar num museu implica esperar numa fila para se puder apreciar o espólio, os edifícios são portentosos e de tirar a respiração - disparasse para onde disparasse havia a garantia de uma boa fotografia. A gastronomia é extraordinária [Paelha ❤].
